Who is Telly Vision/Lost Telly?

I'm Telly Vision a photographer from England currently living in Texas.
I love to document the quirky and unique.

Positivity is important to me. I believe it can be easy to forget how wonderful life can be. I use photography to share moments that show kindness and joy.

I primarily share street photography, urban art, typography, and architecture. I also occasionally share animals I meet on my journeys as well as interesting nature shots.

Street Photography

I have been taking photos for as long as I could hold a camera, but truly got passionate about photography when I discovered street photography. Candid shots of strangers taken within public places.

I most enjoy documenting positive events such as parades that show people at their happiest. As well as skilled street performers that spark joy.

Urban Art

While exploring the streets I document urban art, primarily graffiti and murals. Art that is temporary in nature. While I respect the art form and admire how it evolves over time I wish to show case the art with people who might not have the chance to view it in person.

Typically I capture some of the area surrounding the art within my photography to give the viewer context and so they can get a feel of the location.

Typography

I document interesting text around me through photography, these can be interesting due to the typeface or the message within the image. I enjoy seeking out messages to and from strangers.

Architecture

I enjoy sharing unconventional architecture photography, focusing less on individual buildings and sharing more of the space surrounding them. Giving more context to the location of the building shares more of the character and highlights details that might otherwise be missed.

Animals

I typically photograph people but will occasionally meet fluffy or feathered friends on my journeys. I enjoy sharing cute animals that are kind enough to stop and say hello to me. This is usually squirrels and pigeons.

Nature

I usually explore cities and towns, as a result I don't take much nature photography. However, I can't help sharing a beautiful sunset or stunning natural location.

Early Projects

I studied photography for 2 years earning an extended diploma, I then went on to study graphic design for an additional year.

My end of course photography project was
Life Is A Glitch, photos taken in London and corrupted through digital manipulation of code to create glitched images. Three images from the series were shown within a public gallery.

2020 - Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic caused many people including myself to be furloughed. This meant I was off work for months. I used this time to focus more on my photography.

During 2020 I started various personal projects including documenting lockdown in England during the
COVID-19 pandemic. Three of the images I took during this time are featured in the Historic England archive as apart of their Picturing Lockdown project.

2021 - Escapism

During 2021 I needed a distraction from the still ongoing pandemic. I did so through two projects.

Second Street - A series taken within the virtual world of Second Life while people were under lockdown and spending more time at home. I refer to these photos as virtual street photography.

Out Of Focus - A collection of blurry unclear images that represent a feeling of disconnect as I tried to return to a new routine and new normal after stay at home lockdown rules were lifted.

2022/2023 - Furries

During 2022 I decided to document the furry subculture. Furries are enthusiasts for animal characters with human characteristics. Many furries will create their own animal persona (fursona) and dress up in costumes as these characters. This is known as fursuiting and the costumes are called fursuits. Many furries fursuit at events such as conventions and meetups.
